There is alot of history in Galveston Texas on slavery but you have to dig for it. because most white people here won't mention anything about slavery here. they can tell you everything about the houses of the masters from that era but they will not tell you the black history about Galveston Texas. Jack Johnson lived there in the 1800's with his famliy and he use to go down on the wharf and throw sacks before he became a boxer. their are more things here that need to be told but here they keep quiet about slavery. each year there they have a bunch of young African American people that come to party for beach party weekend and they make it real hard on these young people it's like their scared of alot of black people in one place at one time, there is alot of history here they only tell you about the same people and some of them didn't tell the truth they added to the story.
