Genealogybank has one again decided to sponsor the 4 week online course Finding African American Ancestors in Newspapers: Research Strategies for Success.
For the February 20th session the cost will be $39.99 (regularly $99.99). The offer last year attracted many researchers so if you are really interested don't hesitate too long because there is a limit on class size.
It is a work at your own pace situation, where you ideally do one lesson a week for the four weeks. You get to download all the lessons & keep them after the course is over.
Students get an exercise to do at the conclusion of each lesson and are provided feedback, but no grades are assigned for the exercises or the overall class. You receive a certificate of completion at the end.
Anyone who has taken my 2 hour workshop on finding and using black newspapers at the AAHGS or AAAHRP conferences will gain many additional tips and strategies in this course, as will those who have purchased the book Finding and Using African American Newspapers.
