My 6th g-grandmother, Charity Chavis, was named as mother of my 5th g-grandfather, John Drake, in an 1800 spanish language marriage document from Louisiana..It showed Charity as *Charite Chevez*, and showed her, and John's father, Aaron Drake, as being from VA, and showed their son John as being from Carolina...
My understanding is that the Chavises owned lands in both Carolina and VA...
John Drake and my 5th g-grandmother, Rosalia Abcher, had a daughter, Sharafina Drake, who married into my Goins line..
I still don't know if my Charity had brothers or sisters, or who her parents were...
