Re: Geaween/Gowen??
In Response To: Re: Geaween/Gowen?? ()

I have a Rebecca Goings as my great-great grandmother. Her father was Henderson and Agnes Goings. My Rebecca had a son named Joseph with Nimrod Brock, her second cousin once removed (also descended from the Goings family through his paternal grandmother). Joseph Brock was my great grandfather and as a young man moved (along with many others from the area) to Iowa to work in the coal mines. Part of the family eventually migrated to Minnesota where I was born.

Rebecca and Nimrod were descended from Agnes of Louisa County born about 1725. Although initially I was able, using Paul's book, to link her to the original 20 and odd to John Gaeween/Gowen, he has since changed her ancestor to a different person, a Philip Gowen born around 1650.
