The information I have came from a family history compiled by a cousin given to my grandfather. He shared with me his copy of the book. I'll contact her to see if she has more information.

The book did state that one of Delila and George Morgan's sons was married in Haiti and he also joined the military while they were there. They initially moved to Haiti due to seeing an advertisement in a paper for workers to come and help with sugar cane farming. He evidently owned some land there and moved back to the USA after the Civil War.

The book referenced in the family history compilation was called "The Morgans: An Early Pioneer Family in Boyne City" it was written and edited by Eula Martin, Kipp Drake, and Robert Morgridge.

Sorry if this is a double post. I posted a reply yesterday but don't see it today.
