Hi all - I am new to this and just received my mtDNA results that place me (they think) in L3b. The test was done by FamilyTree. I did not realize this was such a mysterious assignation. I also came up with no mtDNA matches (or any on the Y side for that matter either :-)) After reading through the posts I find it interesting that I can trace my maternal line back to Pittsylvania VA in the late 18th century. Also, we have family traditions that have always seemed a little odd to me (that was until I became Jewish and then realized their significance but still don't know how we ended up with them... I will now have to do some hard investigating as my mutations seem to be very rare.
