This has been one of my thoughts also. It certainly would make sense. I'm hoping to find more out about Minda because I think I am one of the few L3s without a known connection back to Virginia. Or maybe we're a different cluster because Howard nor Korey & Kiplin have a VA connection either.
Has anyone had success with finding the maiden name of a woman who's first record while free is in her married name and yet she wasn't alive when SC began issuing death certificates. She wasn't free in 1860, but I haven't even been able to figure out who held her during her enslavement.
