Re: SLAVE/MARKET HOUSE

If my profession is firefighting, why would I be interested in another profession? If I live in Miami, Florida, why would/or should I be interested in Dallas, Texas? If I were a female why should I care anything about males (beyond the obvious)?

It's bewildering that some people can't understand human nature. One can be interested in whatever they choose! Admittedly, I have to remind myself to try to 'connect the dots', from time-to-time. But, I do try to see more than just my perspective before I start slinging mud and insults.

Your points are very appropriate. Long ago, someone 'declared' that the United States Of America is a "melting pot". Many nationalities and ethnicities reside here, all 'together'. Our history, in fact, is all inclusive of all of the total group...not just a portion of the group, or a majority. What people write, and call, history, is just what my father told me..."his-story". Maybe one day, we'll figure out how to make this "our story"...the "real story".

It was mentioned in this thread, that "ignorance is bliss"...in my time, I've noticed some extremely happy people (for no apparent reason).

I don't believe that we can change the minds of those who choose NOT to learn. I do however, appreciate those of you who try, none the less.

That's why I think educating the children makes the real difference...not brainwashing them, but teaching them how to think rationally for themselves. Knowledge can be power.
