Another note from one too busy right now. But, he will get to us later:

In my sixteen years of researching the WISEMAN surname, I have run across three different Wiseman families who had slaves, including my GGG Uncle, William Wiseman of Rowan Co., NC and his descendants. William had a large plantation in Rowan County and I have some stories about his slaves, as well as the slaves of his descendants.

There was another Wiseman family which came out of SC to MS and they too had slaves. The third family was in Nelson Co., KY and they too had slaves. I have abstracted all Wiseman surnames from the U.S. Census, from 1790 thru 1900 and have run across several Black families named Wiseman.

I have never tried to put this information together, but may do that in the future and would be willing to share it with you. I copied your query and put it in my "Black Wiseman" file for future reference.
