Proved 7 July 1851. All land and Negroes are to be sold, ... except JANUARY, his WIFE NELLY, and the 40 acres that JANUARY is now planting. JANUARY and NELLY are to remain on these forty acres for the rest of their lives. They are to be furnished with a sorrell horse, 2 cows and calves, and all of Watson's hogs. Watson's executor is requested to build them a house. After death of JANUARY and NELLY, the land is to revert to the estate. If JANUARY and NELLY, in the meantime, should become unable to support themselves, then Watson's executor shall provide for them out of Watson's estate. (Coosa Co., Will & Orphan's Records 2: 42-43.)
