Tucker-KY-Misc Records-1847-58 Saw your post on ROOTS-L re: slave data. I've found the following in my family papers. This was the Tucker family of Shelby, Spencer, and Jefferson Counties, KY. The family moved to KY from VA in 1808. I'm not terribly proud of this, but if it can help someone else find their roots, I'm happy to share. I have either the original or copies of the source documents mentioned below. 1. Receipt, dated 18 Feb 1847, for purchase of "man named Billy, Black Color, about 28 or 29 years of age." Purchased by Hazael Tucker from Henry William (or Willis?). 2. Receipt, dated 31 Dec 1858, for purchase of "boy named Alph." Purchased by Hazael Tucker from John N. Tyler, Benjamin Head, and Nannie J. Head. 3. Slaves mentioned in inventory of the estate of Thomas Tucker (1848, Spencer County): Susan and her child Laurie Ann, John, Feba, and Aunt Inda. 4. Slaves mentioned in assignment of dower to Elizabeth Tucker (Sept 1848, Spencer County): Africa, Phibo (could be variant spelling for "Feba" listed in #3 above), and Susan, Laurie Ann, John, and Aunt Inda (described as "old woman") listed above. 5. Slaves named in estate inventory of Elizabeth Tucker (12 Sept. 1864). Judy, age 85; Africa, age 46 (mentioned also in 3&4 above); Shebo, age 33. Contributed by: spice3@juno.com (Susan S.
