Trull-Africa-aft1746

"John W. Trull, the original pioneer was born on the Isle of Wight, England in 1746 .  He was pressed into service at 13 years of age, on a Man-of-War named "Irando".

Several years later, when a ship he was on was engaged in the Slave Trade in Africa, and while waiting for a load of slaves it is recorded he remarked, "that he could see the flash of arms like lightning bugs on the shore".
