The following was taken from The Tennessee Genealogical
Magazine "Ansearchin'" News - Fall & Winter 1980-Volume 27 -
Number 3 & 4

FRANKLIN COUNTY, TENNESSEE WILL BOOK 1808-1847
Abstracted from microfilm by Betsy F. West

These wills have been copied from the original book into a
new volume at some date later than the originals. Errors may
have crept in, particularly in spelling. Moreover, the
copyist makes all letters w, m, n, I, l and r look alike in
a series of scallops. Researchers will be wise to look at
the original of any possible variation. The number preceding
the name of the testator is the page number of the will
book.

17 - WINKFIELD SHROPSHIRE:
... To wife CATHERINE, ten Negroes: NED, HANNAH and her
three children, BALDWIN, DICK & HARRY, MARY and her three
children JACOB, TOM & MARTIN, and SARAH.
 Wife sole executor…or son JAMES H. SHROPSHIRE in her place.
... To daughter NANCY, Negro girl ISABELA.
... My children JAMES H. SHROPSHIRE, BETSY TOWNSEND, JOHN
SHROPSHIRE whose peculiar situation being afflicted with
fits and idiocy and who requires by reason thereof much
care, etc
... NANCY SHROPSHIRE, SABRIAN SHROPSHIRE, PAMELA SHROPSHIRE,
JOSEPH SHROPSHIRE and POLLY WINKFIELD SHROPSHIRE…to be paid
when they come of age or marry.
