Robertson ... in his right, and as curator of the estate of Austin Robertson, heir of James Robertson, dec'd.; Benjamin Smith and his wife, Catherine; Elizabeth Wilkerson; John F. Alloway and Nancy, his wife, and the heirs of Eliza Whiteside, dec'd. aforesaid, That in the year 1840 Horatio Robertson died, seized of the following slaves to wit: ... Amira, age 35 years with her increase, to wit: ... Josephine, age 6, and Emeline, age 4, and Jane, age 2 years. These slaves were by proper legal proceedings assigned to Nancy Robertson, the widow of the said deceased, as her dower in her husband, Horatio Robertson's estate. That in the year 1862 the said Nancy Robertson died, as aforesaid, that said Horatio Robertson left the following heirs: ... George W. Robertson; ... The heirs of Eliza Whiteside, dec'd.; ... Alloway Heirs of Elizabeth Ellis ... Elizabeth Wilkerson Horatio Robertson and his wife, Nancy Gill, had 8 known children ... among whom were some of the above people. It appears that the eldest son and daughter of Horatio were James and Eliza Ann Robertson. Newly found information states James Robertson had two sons who are not listed in most published family histories of his family. This information came from the Will of Horatio who named two grandchildren, Tyrea and Austin Robinson as sons of James Robertson. 1850: George W. (William) Robertson was found in the Lincoln Co. Missouri census. Listed with him were his wife, Mary Ann, age 27, b. Ky.; Thomas, age 9, b. Ky.; Phillip, age 6, b. Ky.; and Emily, age 2, b. in Mo. Mary Ann's parents were Archibald & Mary (Proctor) Robertson. This indicates George married his cousin. 1860: George W. Robertson, aged 47, b. Ky., was living in Hurricane Township, Lincoln Co., Missouri census. Listed in his household were wife, Mary Ann, age 40, b. Ky. and six children whose names were: Phillip, age 15, b. Ky.; Eulalu?, age 13, b. Mo.; Emma W., age 7, b. Mo.; Richard D., age 4, b. Mo., Ella, age 2, b. Mo.; infant, aged 1/2 month, b.
