Price-SC-1853 Pugh PRICE Edgefield Co, SC Hi, I saw the note on Rootsweb, I hope the following information will be of interest of someone researching the African-American PRICE line. It would be tremendously interesting to me to find the descendants of the boy Dennis Price indicated below: Slaveowners Name: Pugh PRICE, wife Mariah Names of Slaves: 1 Negro woman named Hariet 1 Man Jimmy or Timmy 1 Boy Dennis 1 Girl __Anna (first 4 letters unreadable) BirthPlace of Slave: Birthplace unknown for Hariet and Jimmy, but probably Price Plantation, located on the west side of Stephens Creek, just west of where Stephens Creek branches into Hard Labor Creek and Buffalo Creek, adjoining lands of William B. Dorris and Littleton A Brooks, in Edgefield Co, SC. Age of Slave: Only age given is for Dennis, age 10 Sex of Slave: 2 males, 2 females Color of Slave: Unk Other Physical Description: None given Other Information: This passage found in will of Pugh PRICE: "I give and be queath unto my beloved wife Mariah Price and to her heirs one negro boy named Dennis now about ten years old." From what I have been able to determine so far, the descendants of Pugh PRICE may have moved to AL after Pugh PRICE's death. I have not found anything on Mariah PRICE's death, so the disposition of the slave Dennis and the others is unknown at this time.
