Pedigrew-TN-MS-1843 Perry Co, TN, Runaway, 1843 "THE GUARD" Holly Springs, MS October 4, 1843 Edition $100 REWARD Runaway from the Plantation of the subscriber, in Perry County, Tennessee, on Tuesday the 15th instant, a Negro man named LEWIS, about thirty five years old, of black complexion about six feet high, rather slim built, but strong and active and tolerably smart spoken. He took off sundry articles of clothing with him so that it is difficult to describe his dress as he will be likely to change it. We suspect he has been taken off by some white man if so we will give One Hundred Dollars to any person who will deliver the said Negro and the Thief to us or lodge them in any jail where we can get the Negro and give such information as will enable us to prosecute the Thief to conviction or we will give $50 for the delivery of the Negro alone or his being lodged in Jail so that we can get him.
