Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Roberts one negro wench named Abigail to her and her heirs forever. ... I give and bequeath unto my daughter Rachel (who would in 4 more years marry Benjamin Jarmen/ Gorman) one negro girl named Tidy to her and her heirs forever legally begotten of her body. He also left his wife Sarah Gorsuch Parlett "a negro wench at her own and first choice of my said negroes." He left each of his female decendants slaves and left his male decendants tracts of land, Smith's Chance, Parlett's Fancy and Parlett's Addition. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - In 1790's list of Baltimore Slave owners, his son David is listed as owning one slave. Here is David's wife Hannah Parlett's will; In the name of God, Amen I, Hannah Parlett, Senior of Baltimore County and state of Maryland and being weak in body but of sound disposing mind, memory and calling to mind the mortality of human life I have made and ordained this my last will and testament in manner and form the folowing; ... First I give to my daughter Hannah Fuller one negro boy named Dennis, I give to the age of thirty five years. ... I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Fowler, one negro girl named Flora to serve to the age of thirty she being three years old at this time and the said Mary Fowler must pay Emila Burgan twenty dollars and Deborah Burgan twenty dollars...
