The said negroes I warrant to be sound in body and mind and slaves for lifetime.  I also warrant said negroes from any claims whatever or adverse claims of any person or persons.

NOTE TO RESEARCHERS:  Thomas MEDLOCK's wife, Rebecca, died ca. 1856/57 and it is possible these slaves belonged to his wife and were sold after her death.  Rebecca's maiden name or her surname name from a previous marriage was MILLER.  Thomas MEDLOCK was in Houston Co., TX, in the 1850 census and in Bell Co., TX, in the 1860 census.  A search of slave census schedules indicates he was not listed as a slave holder during these census years.
