McIntosh-MS-1781 The information below was obtained from Natchetz Court Records, 1767-1805 by May Wilson McBee and doesn't involve my research. A friend loaned me this book and I will be posting contents from time to time. Natchez used to, I think, be the capital of MS. Natchetz Court Records, 1767-1805 by May Wilson McBee p.44. Before me Charles de Grandpre Commandant of this district, and Notary Public, there being none in this Province, In the presence of Josquim Ossorono and Luis Perez de Bellegaarde, appeared Issac Johnson a resident of the same, who acknowledged to be indebeted to Alexander McIntosh, during more than one year for $375, money lent, time of payment of the sum. The sd Issac Johnson and Mary his wife, each of the whole and for each other hereby promise to pay sd McIntosh at expiration of the term and give as surety a morgage on two slaves, namely "Stephen," nat, of Carolina, aged about 30 and "Mary", a Hibo negro wench, aged abt 25, and generally all the property and estate of which they are posessed.
