Will of Robert MANN of the Parish of Southfarham, Essex Co, VA, dated 21 Sept 1795:

" ... To son Joseph Mann ... the negro slaves Lucy, Hearry, Peter and Cloe and the future increase of Lucy and the children which Cloe now hath & her and their future increase
... permit daughter Caty Banks ... use of the said chattles and slaves and their future increase during her natural life & no longer as it is expressly my intention that she shall have no greater estate therin than for her life and my son Joseph and his heirs do hold the said property
... To wife Sarah Mann my whole estate real & personal during her natural life or widowhood including the lands & slaves devised to my son Joseph as afresd for the benefit of my daughter Caty Banks ... "
