Will of Joseph MANN of Southfarham Parish, Essex Co, VA, dated 8 Mar 1777:

" ... Rachel Courtney my present wife ... I oblige myself to lend her a negro boy named Richmond & one other negro the choice of all my slaves which she was to have during her life & at her death both the said slaves to return to my estate ...
... to my son John Mann ... a negro fellow named Charles and negro girl named Nan
... To son Robert Mann ... a negro girl named Alice
... To daughter Ann Lewis, a negro girl named Alice.
... To daughter Mary Lovell, [Sowell?] a negro girl named Winney.
... To Daughter Sarah Townely, a negro man named Ben."
