In the name of God Amen I Leanard Langston of Edgecombe County and state of North Carolina being weak in body at this present time yet of a sound mind and memory and perfect understanding thanks be to God for that I do make this My Last Will and Testament as follows. ... I give and bequeath unto Lewis Bandy my pine woods plantation and all the land that belongs thereunto and five cows and calves, four ewes and lambs, one feather bed and furniture, a mare with a cracked leg, one chest that I had of James Brown to him forever. ... William Daniell is not to be interrupted till Lewis Bandy is of age. ... I lend to my beloved wife negro follow Jack for the term of ten years then to my granson Isaac Langston forever and one feather bed and furniture and one chest that is called mine. ... I also lend to my wife one negro wench called Cue for the term of ten years then to my grandson Luke Bolton forever and one feather bed and furniture and my desk. ... I give to my grand daughter Elizabeth Bolton one negro girl named Cay forever and one feather bed and furniture and oval table. ...
