Know all men by these presents that I Josish Jarvis of the State and County aforesaid for and in consideration of five hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Joseph C. Jennett of the State and County aforesaid the receipt where of I do hereby acknowledge, have bargained, sold & delivered and by these presents do bargain sell and deliver unto the said Joseph C. Jennett
... a Negro woman Harriet age about thirty three years
... and boy George age between two & three years
to have and to hold the aforesaid bargained Negroes unto the said Joseph C. Jennett his executors, administrators and assigns forever and I the said Josiah G. Jarvis for myself, my executors and administrators shall and will warrant and defend the same against all person unto the said Joseph C. Jennett, his executors, administrators and assigns by my hand and seal this 11th day of October 1849.
