JARRELL Cemetery 1790-1868 WVa

"There are Jarrells buried in the Whites Branch Cemetery at Gordon, WV. This cemetery was not marked as the sign was laying on the side of the road. It is on the hill on the left side as you go up Pond Fork from Madison, right where the road for Wm. Mtn. comes in. Park across the road in a turn-around area. There is a very legible stone there that says, 'Slaves of John Jarrell: Dine 1790, Lewis 1821-1858, Lote 1828-1868, Vina 1829.'

"I was told that John Jarrell owned 7,220 acres, b. 1782 in Madison Co., d. 22 Oct 1876, m. Nancy Brown. This cemetery has many many unmarked stones and field stones."
