Newspaper Article-Sylvanus Gardner Hunter-Baldwin Co, GA

   My great-uncle, Sylvanus Gardner Hunter born, 28th April
1823 in Baldwin Co., GA.
   Died. 14th July 1900 in Mantee, Choctaw Co, MS.
   Owned two slaves who were named GEORGE and SARAH HUNTER.
They are buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Mantee, MS.  There
is mention of these names in an 1849-newspaper article of
which I have the text.  It would be reasonable to assume
that African-Americans named HUNTER who originated from this
area could very well be descendants of George and Sarah
Hunter.
