I, Hannah Glenn of the County of Hanover State of Virginia being of sound mind memory thanks be to almighty God ...do make and ordain this my last will and Testament ... Imprimis... I give to my son William Glenn...the following negroes to wit Jenny, Fanny, Mat, William, Owen, John, Martha and her two children William and Mary with their future increase. ... I give to my son John T. Glenn...the following negroes - to wit - Michael, Ned, Celia, Lucy, Burwell, John, Eliza and Reuben, with their future increase. ... I give to my son James R. Glenn...the following negroes to wit Elisha, Mary, Mourning, Peter, Milley and Watson with their future increase. ... I give to my executors herein after named for the benefit of my grandchildren (the children of my son Archibald Glenn dec'd) ... I had given to my son Archibald H. Glenn in his lifetime the following negroes to wit Jordan, Cuzza, Fanny, Tally, Charles and Betty to which said negroes and their future increase. I have no claim whatsoever, he having sold them during life. ... It is my will that my exors hire out my negroes Sam and Watson and annually apply the sums which may be raised by their hire to the payment of said debts, but if my creditors will not wait to be thus paid my said exors are hereby directed to sell my said negro man Sam at a private sale, and that he may choose his master provided they will give a fair price for him, and apply the money thus obtained to the payment of the said dehts. Should these funds prove insufficient for the payment of the said debts my Executors are hereby directed to sell my said negro man Watson at private sale or as prescribed above for Sam. ... It is also my desire after all my just debts are paid that my executors shall raise from the hire or sale of the above named negroes two hundred dollars for the support of my grandchildren, the children of Archibald H. Glenn - ... I also give to my son William Glenn after all the money heretofore mentioned by raised and all my debts heretofore named are discharged, my negro man Watson to him and his heirs forever. ... also I give to my son John T. Glenn after all my just debts... my negro man Sam to his and his heirs forever. Lastly I do constitute and appoint my sons William Glenn and John T. Glenn Executors of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other writen testaments by me made or heretofore safe. ...
