At a Court held for Orange County on Thursday the 5th April 1765
This Deed of gift From Jane Gholston to John Gholson...

...to my said Son John Gholson All and Every the Negros as shall be hereafter named (Viz.) Tom, Bob, Venus, Phillis, Judey, Creece, Ben, Little Tom, Cupid, Mary, Billy, all which negroes being Left and Given to me by my late Husband Anthony Gholson, Decd. for & During my Natural Life and the same negros as, Tom, Bob, Venus, Phillis, Judey, Creece, Ben, Little Tom, Cupid, Mary and Billey, I Do Give Grant make over and confirm unto my said Son John Gholson for and During the Term of my natural Life and no Longer and after my Decease then the said Negroes shall be and Return unto the rest of my Children as appointed by my aforesaid Husband Lately Decd.
