He wears a light-coloured Duroy Coat, strip'd Cherryderry Jacket and Breeches, light grey worsted Stockings, two good white Shirts, a brown Wig, an old Castor Hat, and good Shoes; but may have other Cloaths unknown; and also an old Indenture which has been cancelled. Whoever secures the said Servant, so that he may be had again, shall have Four Pounds Reward and Reasonable Charges paid, by Evan Morgan." January 8, 1734: "JOHN FROST, Staymaker, late Servant to Evan Morgan, now liveth in Second Street, over against Doctor Hooper's, in Copartnership with Thomas Carter, where all sorts of Stays and Coats are made after the best manner." February 28, 1738: "At the House of Robert Miller over-against the Widow Gordon's in Front-Street, are made all sorts of Stays and Coats, crooked or strait, at reasonable Rates, by the said Robert Miller and John Frost." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Although there is no indication in the Pennsylvania Gazette that John FROST worked in Philadelphia after February 28, 1738, the fact that he was working there as late as 1738 may indicate that he was not the same person as the John FROST who lived in Frederick County, VA beginning in the 1730's. The latter John FROST purchased a 380-acre tract (surveyed on September 25, 1734) from the Colony of VA on November 12, 1735. Mike Frost Contributed by: URQ5 By way of: GFS LBall
