Know by all men by these presents that I William G. Crawley for the consideration of the sum of Thirteen hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by John F. Crawley, by deducting said sum from my liability to him - have this day sold to said John F., a Negro slave named David, which said Negro is about 25 years old & is mansanted [sp ?] to be healthy in body & mind.
Is warranted to be a slave for life & the title hereby conveyed will be defended by me.
