COMSTOCK, CT, 1754 Moses Comstock born in Norwalk, Conn., May 4, 1685; died Norwalk, Jan. 18, 1766; married Feb. 23, 1709-10 Abigail Brinsmade, b. 1691; d. Nov. 16, 1766, dau. of Daniel and Sarah (Kellog) Brinsmade. Moses Comstock's will of Jan. 24, 1754, proved Feb. 11, 1766, mentions wife Abigail, daus. Ect. ect. The will gives to his wife Abigail the life use and improvement of my negro man Caesar, my mulatto boy John, and negro woman Bett. His daughters Sarah and Phebe Comstock (unmarried) had a slave Onesimus, bought for 39 pounds It mentions Moses Comstock in the Journal of American history, vol. 1 number 1 is supposed to be reprinted a bill of sale of a slave boy named Cesar to Moses Comstock. Caesar was admitted to membership in the Wilton Church in 1741, the only negro to be admitted and there are records to back this up.
