I, William COCKE of the Parish of Saint Paul in the County of Hanover od make this my last will and Testament. ... Imprimis: I lend unto my daughter Sarah CAMP the four negroe slaves David, George, Pegg & Hannah and at her death it is my will and desire that the said slaves with the increase of the females may be equally divided among the chidren of my said daughter which may be alive at her death, but in case any of her children shall died in her lifetime leaving issue that such issue shall have the part of their parent had she or he been alive at the time of the death of my said daugher. ... Item: I give and bequeath unto my son in law Henry Fleet my three negro slaves, owit, Billy, Betty and Lewis. ... Item: I give and bequeath unto my son William Cocke my three slaves, towit, James, Robert and Alfred, ... Item: I lend unto my beloved wife, during her life.....the following slaves, to wit, John, Nat, Charles, Nelson, Stephen, Ben, Aggy, Rhoda, Grace and Maria ... And whereas it is uncertain whether my said son Joseph Anderson Cocke be now alive or not, but in case he shall return, then I give him at my wife's death ...the said slaves, Nat, Charles and Nelson... ...
