I received Court documents this past week, disposing of land and slaves and appointing a guardian for the children of my g-g-gf, John CHAPPELL of Montgomery Co., NC. John and his wife were both murdered by one of their slaves and one of their sons injured in 1858.
Here is the info I received:
Ordered by the Court that Jas. F Green and Joshua CHAPPELL adm of John CHAPPELL have leave to sell the negroes belonging to _ _ _ _ _ of John CHAPPELL five in number Tempe, Rachael, Terrell, Harrison and a child name not recollected the youngest child of Rachael. On a credit of six months.
