Indenture

Indenture made this 5th day of April 1831 between Hugh MARRS, Sr. of the county of Butler Commonwealth of Kentucky of the first part, for an in consideration of the love and affection I bear toward my daughter Betsy FORSYTHE, wife of Jefferson and for and in consideration of the sum of _?_ dollars to me in hand paid do by these presents hereby grant, give, bargain & sell unto Alexander CHAPMAN of the said county and state aforesaid, him as trustee in trust for the use and benefit of my said daughter Betsy,

... one Negro slave woman by the name of JUDY, about twenty years of age to have and to hold...
