Certificate of the Importation of certain slaves into this commonwealth by P. Cardwell
I do hereby certify that slaves brought into this commonwealth from the state of South Carolina the following slaves to wit.
... DILCE a female slave age about twenty one and her three children names & ages
... UMPHREY about seven male.
... MILLY a female about three,
... & HARRISON a male her youngest child age about six weeks old
and that the said slaves have not been brought into this
commonwealth for the purpose of sale or with the intention
to evade the law of this commonwealth. To prevent further
importations of slaves or in any manner contrary to the
provisions of an act of assembly prohibiting the
introduction of slaves into the said commonwealth.
Given under my hand and seal this 15 day of May 1807.

This day Perrin Cardwell personally came before me a Justice of the peace for the said county and maid oath that the above statements contain the facts and truths. Given under my hand and seal this day and date above written.
