wife Martha (Hankinson?) - received men Joe, Doctor, Dick, woman Charlotte; John, Jim, and Jenny (bought from brother Philemon Bowers), and Big Mary after wife's death, boy John goes to son James; Jim and Jenny go to daughter Catherine Barnes; Big Mary goes to daughter Anna B. Cary.

*Susannah (Mrs. Henry Starr) - received Morris (worth $950) and girl Annarchy (worth $1050)
*son-in-law John Hatfield - received Patience
*Sarah (Mrs. George Dunbar) - received Mariah (worth $350) and Robin
*James - received Charles, Jerry, and girl Sophy (age 12)
*Catherine Barnes - received Will, Fanny, Handy (age 7 ), Lucy and her child Jinny, Will, Raney, and Mary (daughter of Sary)
*Anna (Mrs. William Cary) - received Cato, Ephraim, Billy, Eliza and her child Mariah, Tom, Henry, Louisa, and old Sophia
*Mary (Mrs. John Hatfield) - received Stephen, Phill, George, Clarissa and her child Jane, Nancy, Jordan, and old Sary
*grand-daughter Martha Theresa Bowers (dtr. of deceased son, John) - received Washington and Sandy (both boys aged 13), and Sucky (girl aged 12)
