John Adair empowers Major Joshua Crow...to release in open court...a Negro man named CHARLES, late the property or Ignatious Pigman, from all claim of servitude which I have on him by virtue of a purchase made by me in Hartford (Ohio Co. KY) on 31 July 1805.

I, John Adair of Mercer Co. do manumit CHARLES BARTON from this date.
