Ferdinand J. White Sr.
Submitter: Debra White Hayes, granddaughter

This is a picture of my grandfather, Ferdinand J. White Sr. He was born in 1863 in Natchez, Mississippi. He lived and worked for J. F. H Claiborne from 1863-1891 with his brother Fred and sister Alice. Ferdinand married Hannah Anna Bona Walker in 1891 in Natchez. They had six children, Ernestine, Ferdinand Jr., George, Desiree, William Earl, and Frederick. The family moved to New Orleans about 1902. Ferdinand was killed in 1937 while working for the Illinois Central Railroad as a sweeper. It is unknown at this time where the photograph was taken.
