Marie Eleonita Steele-Williams, the maternal grandmother of the submitter, was the 4th of 8 children born to Edmund Charles Steele and Catherine Elizabeth Martin-Steele. The family grew up in St. Thomas in the Moravian religion.  
 
Maries early education was in St. Thomas Catholic School. Before leaving St. Thomas, she gave birth to her first son, Leroy I. Adams. She moved to Puerto Rico in 1916 were she met and married Albert Williams. Maria and Albert had 3 more children, Alberto, Catherine and Leonardo.  
 
Marie's occupation was cooking and was often known and sought after for her delicious recipes.
