I know there has been some discussion in the past to reclaim and rebuild the organizations that were the institutions that helped the Freedmen in the years following the Civil War.

Has there been any movement to charter an organization of descendants of the original members of the Chickasaw and Choctaw Freedmen's Associations?

Because we have a forum for discussion of freedmen issue's I would be curious to know if there would be interest in reclaiming this part of our history and perpetuating the legacy of the freedmen for future generations.
