Rev. Jack Brown is listed on the Schedule I Cherokee Nation 1890 Census Roll as an "Adoptive Colored" entitled to and exercising citizenship with Cherokee Nation. His Cherokee "owner" is Sequoyah Brown Illinois District. Jack Brown was married to Katie Fields year unknown. Jack was reportedly the first black ordained minister in the State of Oklahoma which at that time was Indian Territory. Vian Oklahoma is the listed post office on Census documents.
