The history of the Black Seminoles was recently featured in the Spring 2000 issue of the Frontier Freedman's Journal. Included in this issue were articles about the band leaders Caesar Bruner and Dosar Barkus John Horse The Black Seminoles of Northern Mexico and Negro Abraham and John Caesar a Black Seminole of Florida.
