Thanks for the resonse. Do you have any information that connects this Mattie Carter to a Stevenson or a Bumpus. Cornelius Stevenson/Bumpus's parents were J.C. Stevenson and Mattie Carter. I need to know if this is the same Mattie Carter. It's the only one I have been able to find in the general area during the right time period. J.C. and Mattie may not have been married at the time of Cornelius' birth. I found him in Garvin C. Census in 1920 married to someone else. J.C.'s residence at time of his death was Logan co. where Cornelius was born. Do you know anything else about Mattie?
