Re: Why Must We Be Wannabees?
In Response To: Why Must We Be Wannabees? ()

Wannabees,Wannabees,Wannabees Sounds like Kindergarten Talk.I used to rise to the bait every time. Now it goes through one ear then out other. If you want to search for what you believe is your Cherokee ancestry search you dont need any one's permission. If you cant find it
love your self any way.

Yes there is exploitation and other offences towards Native people what's new. That's why this forum is so popular

If you have a heart felt need to find out who you are go for it.If you are lucky enough to find the connections that is wonderful.

Native American ancestry belongs to the descendants.Native American Freedman Ancestry belongs to the descendants.
It is not Nationally owned by anyone except to the person it belongs to.!!!!!

You can tell how good the five civilized tribes have done with the problem,They need the courts and Congressional help to fix the problem.

Do you ever think about how many actual tribes that are still active in are country. There are customs and beliefs and cultures every ware.
All over the United there is a small tribe struggling to stay together the Salinan tribe in my eyes are a good example they are just as powerful as the Cherokee tribe in my eyes Because they do it by their on grit !!!!
Many other examples can be found where Native Indian communities are holding on to there way of life. With out big money.

To night I will share my time with several different people from several different Native American back grounds for Prayer. That is what we should be about loving each other supporting each other respecting each other.

My prayer tonight is will my heart be strong enough to here what my spirit is saying to me. Am I strong enough to listen.Do I have the heart of my ancestor's. I think my prayer's are in good hands.
