I'am seeking to find out more information regarding a spiritual healing technique performed by my maternal-grandfather entitled "Talking the Fire". My maternal grandfather was born and raised in the central region of Virginia namely (Danville) Virginia.The healing ceremony was performed in private with the patient remembering little at all of the ceremony after recieving their healing. It is said to remove heat and pain from the body through prayer and chanting...(It was said to have been passed on by his mother)..Interested in hearing from anyone out there searching for native ancestry in the south-central part of Virginia and/or their spiritual healing practices..This part of Virginia may have been inhabited by the Monocan Cree Cherokee peoples.
