seems to me you should be suggesting that to the chief and the people that voted the freedmen out. I just asked a question, why do you want so desparately to be a part of something that clearly does not think you belong? If you can't answer the question the problem lies with you and your motivation. There may be a historical legacy of enslavement and some descendants of slaves who have cherokee blood but if you haven't lived in the culture and from what i see a lot of cherokees dont live the culture but find it convinent when necessary to receive $$$$$ from the US to be cherokee. in the books you mention do they write about why the freedmen should be citizens?
