Re: Majority Rules - Creek Nation
In Response To: Re: Majority Rules - Creek Nation ()
Hi Mary, that is correct, you would have had to be a Creek citizen to get in the building, however that had nothing to do with the lack of interest by Creek Freedmen in Okmulgee. They could have stage some kind of organize effort to help educate those Creeks attending. The freedmen were no where to be found.
It was even noticeable by the opposition to the freedmen..."where are they, if they really cared they would be here", stated by some people...it was hard to argue against that...
Creek freedmen have to get off their 'blank' and fight....this was the first convention since 1979 and NOT ONE Creek Freedmen cared to show up!
And please, no excuses....the so called leaders of the Creek Freedmen knew about the convention. And please, don't blame Marilyn Vann, she is a Cherokee Freedmen...and fighting hard for Cherokee freedmen rights...the lack of interest must seat in the people who cared the lease...the Creek Freedmen.....what a huge disappointment.
