Re: Tracing my roots
In Response To: Re: Tracing my roots ()
Greetings Sonny I would like to suggest and inquire about a point or two. First The Spring 2000 edition of "The Frontier Freedman's Journal" by Angela Walton-Raji is totally dedicated to the story of the "Seminole Freedmen" and the Dorsar/Barkus bands. I have a few copies "for sale" and would gladly send you or anyone else a copy for a small fee. You may also be able to get a copy from the author. If you are interested write me and I will give you details on how to get a copy. My second point is your query about Seminole Freedmen card # 52. I assume you have a copy of the enrollment card if not you should secure a copy. While at it you should also send off for the M1301 oral interview jacket. There would more than likely be a significant amount of information on this family. As an aside the name sake of the Dosar Barkus band's enrollment card # is Seminole Freedmen Card # 660. In fact you can view a bit of this information at www.estelusti.com Warmest Regards Estelusti [9 oct 2000] Messages In This Thread
