Amanda (a.k.a. Mandy Mauda Manda)Heiskell was a Black Cherokee slave on the farm of Daniel Heiskell in Sweetwater Tennessee. Her mate's who was also a Black Cherokee slave name was Arter Heiskell. Amanda was born in Tennessee Arter was born in Virginia possibly Shenandoah Valley. Amanda doesn't appear in the Census Records until 1830. The Trail of Tears and Sweetwater crossed paths. Does anyone know or has anyone heard of these people. Amanda had one daughter named Tweeze Heiskell Bryant. Amanda lived to be 110. Census has her as 65? in the 1880s.
