The 1885 Census of the Choctaw Freedmen is being uploaded daily on the following web page:

Included will be the names of those former slaves of the Choctaws who elected to leave the nation who were admitted to citizenship and those whose enrollment was considered to be doubtful by the nation. This is a transcription from the document at the National Archives and placed on the page for general research. Genealogists will be encouraged to still seek the original record where additional data is recorded such as personal property for the enrolled freedmen.
