Re: SURNAME Eubanks search - An African Indian?
In Response To: SURNAME Eubanks search - An African Indian? ()
I checked the Index to the Final Rolls of Citizens and Freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribe. I only checked the Chickasaw Freedmen and the Choctaw Freedmen. I found approximately 30 Choctaw Freedmen with the surname Eubanks and a couple on the Chickasaw Freedmen index. On the Choctaw Freedmen Rolls I see a John E. Eubanks who was born ~1895. Also located a Caesar Eubanks born ~1878. Can you provide any additional names of John Caesar Eubanks's family members (i.e. parents siblings) etc.? The National Archives and Records Administration has a searchable online index. The following is the link to their "Search Hints for Genealogical Research" http://www.nara.gov/nara/nail/nailgen.html
